The 2013 Spring Convention in Pictures
This picture summary describes some, but not all of the activities enjoyed by those who attended the Illinois District Spring Convention in Washington, IL (April 12-13, 2013). Though others may enjoy, it is basically prepared for Coles County Chorus members, past members and other friends…including the great guys from the Belleville Chorus who supplied almost half of the singers for the combined Down State Chorus.
Coles County Helps Hungry and Homeless
Even though it took place a month after the original scheduled date, the Coles County Chorus’ 19th Annual Lenten Benefit Concert was a success. A freewill offering collected from the audience during the one-hour program raised nearly $2,500 for local charities dedicated to fighting hunger and homelessness in Coles County.

Singing Valentines 2013
Seeking to entertain community residents and to raise funds for area high school vocal music programs, three quartets from the Coles County Barbershop Chorus sang more than 70 performances in and around Charleston and Mattoon.
Wednesday Morning After: January 9, 2013
After two successful Christmas Benefit Concerts and singing in a dozen Nursing or Assisted Living Facilities, we took some time off. NOT ! Lots of vocal folds vibrating in recent weeks, especially around the Christmas season.
Wednesday Morning After: December 12, 2012
25 members (plus one special guest) joined us to sing carols for more than 100 people at five different nursing homes or senior living sites last night. We finished with a pizza party and gift exchange. It was especially good to see Jim Kraatz eating pizza with us, and long time friend Larry Icenogle dropped in from Fort Sill, Oklahoma for the festivities.
2012 Christmas Concert in Pictures
The Coles County Chorus presented its 37th Annual Christmas Benefit Concerts on December 2, 2012. The chorus performed two excellent programs of secular and sacred music. Best of all, we collected over $3,800 for local food pantries and HOPE, a homeless/domestic abuse shelter.
